A Bellefontaine woman was arrested Friday evening after police saw her driving without a valid license and suspected impairment.

According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, officers on patrol around 8:15 p.m. on West Sandusky Avenue near North Elm Street noticed 57-year-old Tonja Parsley driving a white Toyota sedan.

Officers confirmed that Parsley did not have a valid driver’s license, then initiated a traffic stop.

As they spoke with her, Parsley showed several signs of impairment.

She told officers she had drunk three beers and smoked marijuana an hour before the stop.

She went on to fail field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle impaired.

After being handcuffed and transported to the Logan County Jail, she provided a urine sample and was later released to a sober driver.
