Bellefontaine Police Department launches Camera Registration Program

The Bellefontaine Police Department has started a new Camera Registration Program to help improve safety in the community.

This program allows residents and business owners to register their security cameras with the police department.

When cameras are registered, the police can know where cameras are located, which may help in solving and preventing crimes.

However, registering cameras doesn’t give the police direct access to video footage unless it is needed for an investigation.

To sign up, residents and business owners can visit the Camera Registration Program HERE.

There, they will fill out a simple form with details about their camera system.

The information will be kept safe and only accessible by the police.

Participation is completely voluntary.

People can also choose to remove their camera from the registration at any time by contacting the police department.
