The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that two crashes happened Monday evening during the 7 o’clock hour, with no injuries reported.
Just after 7:00 PM, a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Debra Moffitt, 58, of Bellefontaine, was traveling east on State Route 540 near Sloan Boulevard when it struck the rear of a 2017 Subaru Outback driven by Austin King, 26, also of Bellefontaine.
King had stopped to turn onto Sloan Boulevard but did not see Moffitt approaching.
Both vehicles suffered heavy damage and were towed from the scene.
King was cited for failure to yield.
Later, at 7:45 PM, a 2014 Honda Civic driven by Gabriel Fortner, 27, of Bellefontaine, was attempting to cross Gunntown Road when it collided with a vehicle driven by Ronald Perry, 79, of Zanesfield, near the Murphy USA gas station.
Fortner failed to yield as he left the stop sign, striking the front of Perry’s vehicle and causing Perry to run off the right side of the road.
Fortner was cited for a stop sign violation.
No injuries were reported.
