The Bellefontaine High School Quiz Bowl team was on the road Monday, traveling to Indian Lake for a pair of matches.
In the opener, Bellefontaine fell to Indian Lake, 240–205.
The Chiefs trailed 195–60 at halftime but mounted a strong comeback, capturing six of the final 10 toss-up questions to make it a competitive finish.
Ethan Reynolds led the BHS scoring with 80 points, while Elliett Lang added 20.
Indian Lake claimed nine toss-up questions in the match, compared to eight for Bellefontaine.
Bellefontaine bounced back in the second match with a 275–155 victory over Bethel. BHS trailed 165–135 after question 15, but closed strong by winning the final five toss-up questions.
Reynolds again led the way with 35 points. Lang contributed 30 points, and Tristyn Wilson, Darby Patton, and Brendan Murray each added 10.
The BHS Quiz Bowl team returns to action next Monday with a match at Jonathan Alder.
