The Bellefontaine High School Quiz Bowl team started CBC play strong going 3-0 Monday night at Bellefontaine.
In the first match, the Chiefs beat Springfield Shawnee 210–130.
Jeffrey Smith led the team in scoring with 35 points.
Caitlin Haley added 20 points, Clara Core 15, Nolan Core 10, and Tristyn Wilson with 10.
In the second match, BHS beat Northwestern 210-130.
Jeffrey Smith scored 70 and Nolan Core had 20.
In the third match, BHS beat Northwestern 180-165.
The team came back from a 165-120 deficit with 4 toss-up questions remaining.
Nolan Core secured the win on the last question.
BHS competed again next week in London.
