Saturday, Bellefontaine Robotics successfully hosted the Showdown at the Peak, a combined Middle and High School VEX robotics competition, at Bellefontaine High School.
Fifty teams from 15 schools gathered to compete in the 2024-2025 VEX Robotics game, High Stakes, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills as future engineers.
The Bellefontaine teams represented themselves and their communities with great pride, bringing home 8 out of 13 trophies, including both competition and judged awards.

The BHS Team 9185 T, Terminator, consisting of students Alex Cavanaugh, Mason Swisher, Dalton Frazier, Marek Frazier, Haydon Argabright, Graham Trittschuh, and Will Gates, earned the Tournament Champion trophy.
They also took home the prestigious Excellence Award, the top-judged recognition, for their outstanding engineering skills and team collaboration.
Meanwhile, Team 9185 C, Carnage, consisting of Lorenz Henry, Hayden Maus, Alex Sandoval, Cody Robb, Fletcher Roberts, Will Myers, and Steven Fulmer, was awarded the Build Award, recognizing their well-built and durable robot, capable of withstanding the challenging competition conditions.
At the middle school level, BMS Teams 7865B, It’s Whatever, and 7865F, Banana Boys teamed up to win the Tournament Champion spots.

Team 7865B, made up of Greyson Huffman, Max Miranda, Charlie Moreland, and Chloe O’Chocke, added the Skills Champion and Excellence Award to their trophy collection.
This marks their second consecutive event where they won all three top awards at a single competition.

The Banana Boys (7865F), composed of Beau Gibson, Beckett Kessler, Jackson Lynch, and Jackson Maus, worked alongside It’s Whatever to secure the victory.
Another notable team, 7865X, X Force, composed of Chandler Herne, Landon Severt, and Christian Sterling, was a Tournament Finalist and took home the Design Award for their exceptional design documentation and progress throughout the season.
