Bellefontaine High School’s robotics program delivered a strong performance at the Ohio State Robotics Championship, held at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, with all three of the school’s teams advancing into the tournament rounds and two earning qualification for the VEX World Championship.

Competing among the state’s top teams, Bellefontaine Robotics entered three teams across two divisions and produced impressive records during qualification matches.

In the Raptor Division, Team 9185K – Kratos finished qualification matches in 14th place with a 5–3 record.

Their teammates, 9185W – “It’s Whatever,” placed 9th with a 6–2 record.

Both teams advanced to the elimination bracket and fought their way to the division semifinals, where they were ultimately defeated after strong tournament runs.

Kratos also competed in the Skills Challenge, finishing 8th overall in the state.

That placement earns the team a spot at the VEX World Championship, one of the highest honors in the competition season.

In the Nighthawk Division, Team 9185T – Terminator delivered one of the event’s best performances, finishing 6th in qualifications with a 6–1–1 record and advancing into the tournament bracket.

Terminator’s engineering design stood out to judges throughout the event.

The team received the Create Award, recognizing an innovative engineering solution and overall robot design.

The award automatically qualifies the team for the VEX World Championship, which will bring top robotics teams from around the globe together to compete.

With strong match play, deep tournament runs, and two teams advancing to the world stage, Bellefontaine Robotics continues to build momentum as one of Ohio’s competitive robotics programs.

The teams will now prepare for the VEX Robotics World Championship (St. Louis, MO, April 22-24), where they will represent Bellefontaine and Ohio against elite teams from across the world.
