The Bellefontaine Robotics Team 7865E-The Slurp-Ez traveled to Dallas Texas from Saturday through Wednesday of this week to compete at the Vex World’s Robotics Championship with the top 2% of the teams that compete in the Vex Robotics/REC program around the world.
The Slurp-Ez were history makers as the first team from Bellefontaine Middle School to qualify and travel to compete at the Vex World’s Championship.
The team competed against 494 teams out of over 15,000 from around the world from the countries of China, Paraguay, Turkey, UK, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Kuwait, Mexico, Columbia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Australia and across the United States.
The talented teams from around the world were tough competition but the Slurp-Ez team consisting of Trinity Fout, Marek Frazier, Brody Miranda, and Cody Robb were tougher.
They went head to head with some of the top teams around the world and won 8 out of 10 matches in their division.
The team went on to the Round of 16 in 10th place with their alliance partners Team Straitis from Canada, where they lost in the first round.
The team was very excited to do so well at their very first World’s Competition and could not wait to get home and start planning their Robot for the next season.
