Bellefontaine School Superintendent Brad Hall recognized the Bellefontaine School Board and thanked them for their service to students and families during Monday night’s meeting. Each board member received a goodie bag of cookies baked by elementary and intermediate students, a gift card from middle school students, and a mug from the high school students. The board also recognized the Seniors of the Month for January, Ava Kunze and Maxwell Fissel, and February, Kayla Sellars and Kaiden Foulk. Each student received a pin and a Ron’s Pizza gift card.
Junior Achievement sponsor Yvette Hunsicker updated the board on the recent activities of both JA and DECA clubs. She said she is also planning a trip for JA students to Boston to attend Future Bound in June of this year.
The board also approved the district’s amended five-year plan as required by Ohio Revised Code Section 5705.391. The plan is projected for fiscal years ending June 30, 2026, through June 30, 2030.

The board also adopted a resolution naming OMNI and TSAGG Compliance Services to manage the district’s 403(B) and 457(B) Retirement Plans, including the OASBO 457 Deferred Compensation Plan.
The board also voted to renew membership in the OHSAA.
The board also approved the resignation of board member Rick Reed, effective January 28, 2026. Reed, who won election to the school board in November of 2025, was recently named Bellefontaine Parks Superintendent by Bellefontaine Service Safety Director Wes Dodds.
The board voted to go into Executive Session to discuss school financing options, possibly including a levy on the ballot, and the appointment of a replacement for Reed.
