The Bellefontaine Board of Education met in regular session Monday night and accepted District Superintendent Brad Hall’s recommendation to hire Sara Core in an administrative role.
Core, a former 4th- and 5th-grade teacher at Bellefontaine Intermediate and, most recently, the K-6 Elementary Principal at Upper Scioto Valley, will be the new principal at Bellefontaine Intermediate, effective August 1, 2026. Superintendent Hall talks about Core’s coming back:
The board also recognized the March Seniors of the Month: Chloe Stolly and Mason Swisher. The students received a pin and a $15 gift card from Ron’s Pizza.
District Treasurer Joshua Wasson presented the board with the monthly financial report. He said that he had anticipated a nearly $1 million loss to the district’s cash-on-hand total, but learned that the shortage was $250,000 less than he expected.
He also said that recent rollover funds received from the federal government allowed some general fund expenditures to be paid from the federal funds rather than the general fund.

The board also adopted the Student Electronic Device Loan Agreement and Student Acceptable Use Policy for the 2026-2027 school year. Additionally, the board approved a $40 daily stipend to be paid to District Transportation Director Tammie Garman for each day she drives a regular school bus route.
The board then moved into Executive Session to discuss district personnel.
The next meeting of the Bellefontaine Board of Education will be on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Sloan Distance Learning Center.
