The Bellefontaine Board of Education met for the final time before school starts on Tuesday night. Superintendent Brad Hall gave his annual Back to School Update to the board and said that in years past, he would say, ‘Ready or not, here they come.’
This year, according to Superintendent Hall, the district is 100% ready:
In his report to the board, District Executive Director of Admin/Transportation Roger Ely said that, while the district did not tackle any major projects this past summer, several critical improvements were made at all buildings.
Ely noted that several areas of asphalt were replaced, including the service and stadium entrance and the bus/band lot. He said that several floors in the Intermediate School were replaced, and new mulch was laid at the Elementary School playgrounds.
District Technology Coordinator Marc Stakey informed the board that the new phone service has been installed and the system is coming online. The new system. entirely in-house, means that the district is fully E-911 compliant.
Stakey also said that work is continuing on new cybersecurity measures that were enacted by the State of Ohio.
