On Monday evening, Mayor Dave Crissman officially welcomed Bellefontaine’s newest police officer.
Officer Blake Parris, 25, took his Oath of Office during a ceremony at City Hall.
Parris, who is from Hilliard, was recently honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps.
He will begin training at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Academy on October 1.
City officials and community members are encouraged to welcome Officer Parris as he begins his service with the Bellefontaine Police Department.
