Bellefontaine Mayor Dave Crissman swore in two of the city’s newest police officers Friday afternoon.

Landen Elliott and Elijah Slagle were officially sworn in during a ceremony at Bellefontaine City Hall.

The two new officers bring the Bellefontaine Police Department close to full staffing.

Elliott and Slagle will head to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s police academy in the coming days as they begin their training.

Both officers are expected to complete their training and officially join the Bellefontaine Police Department in early spring 2027.
