A 16-year-old Bellefontaine driver was cited after hitting an e-bike rider and leaving the scene of the crash.
The crash happened just before 5:30 PM Wednesday, October 7, at South Detroit Street and West Chillicothe Avenue.
Bradford Vermillion told police he was riding eastbound through the crosswalk on his e-bike when a vehicle hit him.
Witnesses told police the driver looked back after the crash but continued driving.
Another witness followed the vehicle and blocked it to prevent the driver from leaving.
The teen told police he saw Vermillion on the ground but did not believe he had hit him.
However, the passenger told officers he realized the vehicle had struck the rider and said the driver continued driving.
The passenger also reported that the driver told him not to tell anyone.
Vermillion declined medical treatment.
Police issued the teen a citation for hit and skip and right of way in a crosswalk.
