Bellefontaine Police report a vehicle was seen driving east on West Columbus Avenue at a high rate of speed and failing to stop at a stop sign Saturday night.  When turning south on Everett St, officers noticed the driver then driving in the complete opposite lane of travel. Police initiated a traffic stop during which the driver again failed to stop at a stop sign.

The driver of the vehicle, Dominic Stackhouse, 16 of Bellefontaine, was asked why he was driving at a high rate of speed. He claimed they were out “having fun” and were just leaving a friend’s house. The vehicle was registered to the parents of a female passenger in the car. A third passenger, also a juvenile, sat quietly in the back seat. Upon verifying identification, the three were released and sent home, this time with the daughter of the owner of the vehicle driving, since she was the only licensed driver in the car.

Stackhouse was cited for Operating without a Drivers License and Stop Sign violations.
