A Bellefontaine woman was charged with six citations, including OVI, and driving in marked lanes Tuesday morning after being intoxicated.
On Thursday morning around 1:35, the Bellefontaine Police Department observed a vehicle drive over the curb while turning onto West Chillicothe Avenue. The vehicle then stopped 10 feet behind the line at the stop light before turning onto South Madriver Street, making an improper turn.
While traveling on North Madriver Street at Rush Avenue, the vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign properly, and the vehicle traveled over the solid white fog line and the dotted white lane multiple times.
A traffic stop was initiated.
Phyllis Huffman, 57, was identified.
She had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath, along with other signs of impairment. Huffman stated she had 3-4 beers and started drinking around 8:30-9:00 Wednesday evening.
She consented to perform field sobriety tests and failed.
Huffman was placed under arrest for OVI.
She was transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department and consented to provide breath samples.
Her first breath sample yielded a BAC of .142, over two times the legal limit. Her second sample yielded a .147.
Huffman was charged with OVI, OVI of .08-.17, driving on the curb, improper turns at intersections, right-of-way at stop signs, and driving in marked lanes.
Huffman was released to a sober individual.
