Bellefontaine Police responded to a one-vehicle crash near North Detroit on Sunday evening.

While on their way to the scene, dispatch told officers that the driver had fled the accident on foot.

The driver, Lindsay Walker, 38, of Bellefontaine, was found in a nearby alley.

Officers located a wrecked Chevrolet at the intersection of North Detroit Street and Franklin Avenue.

Walker showed several signs of impairment, had removed the license plate from the vehicle, and failed several field sobriety tests.

She was arrested and taken to the Bellefontaine Police Department where she refused to submit to a breath test.

Walker was then transported to the Logan County Jail where she was lodged for tampering with evidence.

She was also charged with fictitious plates, stopping after an accident, failure to control, and operating a vehicle while under the influence.
