Benjamin Logan 7th-grade science students will demonstrate their creativity and engineering skills at this Friday’s home football game with a special event. The students have been studying the Engineering Design Process and were tasked with designing and creating their very own t-shirt launchers. Friday, they’ll put their prototypes to the test in front of the home crowd.
Between the 1st and 2nd quarter of the game, these innovative devices will launch t-shirts into the stands for fans to catch. The competition will challenge the students’ designs to see which launcher can propel a t-shirt the farthest into the crowd. Attendees are encouraged to keep an eye on the stands for their chance to snag a free t-shirt!
This exciting event offers students a unique opportunity to apply real-world engineering concepts in a fun, competitive atmosphere while engaging the community in their learning process.
“We are thrilled to provide students with hands-on learning experiences that challenge their creativity and problem-solving skills,” said Tina McPherson, 7th grade teacher.” This is just another example of how Benjamin Logan combines academics with real-world applications.”
The t-shirts for this event have been generously provided by Beau Harmon, Activities Director, ensuring that students have all they need to bring their designs to life and offer fans a memorable experience.
Be sure to attend this Friday’s home game, support our Raiders, and witness which 7th-grade team will claim victory in the t-shirt launcher challenge!
