Benjamin Logan BOE Approves Staff Changes

The Benjamin Logan Local School District Board of Education met for their June meeting on Monday.

Community Health and Wellness Partners EO, Tara Bair presented the ongoing health and wellness initiatives and their impact on the school community.

Superintendent John Scheu expressed his gratitude to outgoing Treasurer Jennifer Sudhoff for her dedication and efforts in enhancing the financial status of the district during her four-year tenure.

The board went on to approve the May 2024 financial report, accepted a $500 Ohio Farm Bureau Grant and a $4,000 Milroy Foundation Grant, approved bank reconciliations and financial reports, and sanctioned fund transfers, including $958.65 to cover negative lunch balances and $75,000 for track and turf maintenance.

The following resignations were accepted:

  • Blaine Walter (MS Custodian)

The resignations were stated as being for personal reasons or further employment.

The board approved overnight trips for students, parents, and chaperones, including the State BPA Leadership Summit in Washington, DC, and the State and National BPA Leadership Conferences in Columbus, Ohio, and Orlando, Florida, respectively.

Benjamin Logan is thankful for the $50 donation from the Better Business Bureau Foundation for the Laws of Life Writing Competition and a $37,847.43 donation from the BL Music Boosters for student activities during the 23-24 school year.

Lastly, the board approved volunteer services from Ashley Shields (Cheer Coach), Ryan Knight (Golf Coach), and Ethan Oakley (Football Coach).

The Benjamin Logan Board of Education will next meet on July 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM in the Benjamin Logan Central Conference Room.
