The Benjamin Logan FFA Chapter proudly hosted its 55th Annual FFA Banquet, bringing together more than 225 members, families, school officials, and community supporters to celebrate a year of outstanding achievement, leadership, and agricultural excellence.
The evening highlighted the dedication and success of FFA members through a wide range of awards and recognitions, showcasing the strength and impact of agricultural education at Benjamin Logan High School.
The banquet opened with recognition of the 2025–2026 FFA Officer Team and remarks from Chapter President Lauren Kennedy, who reflected on a year of growth, increased member involvement, and new initiatives such as Cardboard City. Kennedy emphasized the importance of community support in the chapter’s continued success.
Top Honors and Recognitions
Honorary FFA Degrees were awarded to Mr. Jeff Fay and Mr. John Scheu in recognition of their outstanding service and commitment to agricultural education and the FFA program.
The chapter celebrated strong participation in Career Development Events (CDEs), with dozens of members competing in areas such as wildlife management, veterinary science, agricultural mechanics, and public speaking. These events continue to provide students with valuable real-world skills and career exploration opportunities.
A record 10 members earned the State FFA Degree, one of the highest honors at the state level. Recipients included Miley Buettner, Natalie Chapman, Brooke Coder, Wyatt Gordon, Addie Huffman, Kayley Knox, Emily LeVan, Colton Musser, Abbie Shafer, and Lucy Wenger.
The chapter also recognized Micah Ackley as this year’s American FFA Degree recipient, the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization. Ackley will be honored at the national level this fall in Indianapolis.
Student Achievement Highlights
The chapter’s annual fruit sale fundraiser was a major success, generating over $35,000 to support member activities, travel, and leadership development opportunities. Top sellers were recognized, with Adi Gregg earning first place.
Proficiency Awards were presented to members who demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs across multiple agricultural fields.
The banquet also included a heartfelt Senior Parent Recognition, honoring 20 graduating seniors and their families for their unwavering support and commitment throughout their FFA journeys.
Star Awards and Special Recognition
Special awards were presented to members who exemplify leadership, service, and excellence. The Excellence in Agriculture Award recognized students who have gone above and beyond in their SAE programs, leadership roles, and community involvement.
The Starfish Award honored individuals and community supporters whose contributions have made a lasting impact on the chapter and its members.
Looking Ahead
The evening concluded with the announcement and installation of the 2026–2027 FFA Officer Team, led by returning President Lauren Kennedy. The new team looks forward to continuing the chapter’s tradition of excellence and expanding opportunities for all members.
