Benjamin Logan High School names Gulick and Vance Seniors of the Month

Congratulations to Benjamin Logan High School’s Seniors of the Month, Kate Gulick and Dylan Vance.

 

Kate Gulick is the daughter of Beth and Brian Gulick of Zanesfield.

School activities and awards: Varsity Soccer, Varsity Cheerleading (captain), Track and Field, FCA Co-President, ROC, National Honor Society, Spanish Club and Spanish NHS officer, ROOTS, 1st Team CBC Track and Cheerleading, Second Team and Honorable Mention CBC Soccer, Cheerleading and Soccer Sportsmanship Award, All Miami Valley 3rd Team soccer, CBC Athlete of the Month, CBC honor student, and Congressional Art Show exhibitor.

If I were principal for a day: I would teach everyone how to do a backflip and make them watch all of my favorite movies!

Favorite school memory: Performing Rihanna’s halftime show with all of my friends at our sophomore year talent show!

People who have been an inspiration to me include: Coach Coder, Mrs. Hemmelgarn, and Kristy Daniels.

Lately, I have been reading: TikTok comments.

My advice to parents: I don’t really have any advice for you guys, I’d say you’re doing a pretty good job.

My biggest regret: Worrying about what others think and being afraid to be myself.

Next year I will be: Attending BGSU and majoring in Early Childhood Education with a possible minor in Spanish.

 

Dylan Vance if the son of  Melissa Vance and the late Christopher Vance of Bellefontaine.

School activities and awards: President of National Honor Society, Treasurer of Student Government, Co-President of Raider Outreach Club, Spanish Club, Spanish National Honor Society, Varsity Soccer, Swim, and Track, Youth Tour, Concert Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, Superior ratings at Local, Regional, and State Science Day, Governor’s Award for Excellence in Environmental Protection Research, AP Scholar with Honors, Harold Shaw Award, and 6th Place at Southwest Regional Track Meet 4x200m relay, 1st Team CBC 4x200m Relay, 2nd Team CBC 200yd Medley Relay, CBC Honorable Mention 400yd Freestyle Relay, and CBC Honorable Mention 100yd Backstroke.

If I were principal for a day: I’d add a period after lunch for students to sleep if they wanted to.

Favorite school memory: Participating in the annual 12 Days of Christmas pep rally for the past two years.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: My mom who has led me through all walks of life and Mrs. Michelle Lane who has inspired me to embrace my creative writing and leadership.

Lately, I have been reading: The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel.

My advice to parents: Make sure your kids know that all the hard work they put in is appreciated, it goes a long way.

My biggest regret: Not taking Spanish classes soon enough or not joining clubs early.

Next year I will be: Attending The Ohio State University to study Finance.
