Kindergarten students at Benjamin Logan Elementary School had a memorable Wednesday as they received an exciting surprise funded by a generous $9,000 grant from Honda and All Kids Bike.
The grant provided 24 Strider balance bikes, pedal assemblies, helmets, two storage racks, a teacher bike, and a traffic safety kit.
The program is designed to help young students build confidence, coordination, and a lifelong love of biking.
This initiative is part of a national $100,000 Honda grant program, which placed All Kids Bike programs in eleven schools across Honda communities.
Honda employees personally built the bikes and delivered them to Benjamin Logan Elementary for the big reveal.
Kindergarten students eagerly watched as the bikes were unveiled under a large parachute in the school gymnasium.
Assistant Principal Tony Given, PE Teacher Tiann Harner, Kelly Hogan from Honda, and Nichole Buchholz from All Kids Bike led the event, teaching students about bike safety and helmet use.
Over the next eight weeks, students will participate in a hands-on program designed to teach balance and riding skills in a safe, supportive environment.
PE Teacher Tiann Harner said, “We’ve had bike accidents in the community, and I think it’s important to teach safety and how to use the proper equipment. It’s not just fun—it’s safety and lifelong learning.”
Benjamin Logan Elementary expressed gratitude to Honda for bringing the All Kids Bike Program to the school and supporting students in becoming stronger, safer, and more confident—one ride at a time.
