Benjamin Logan names next Superintendent

The Benjamin Logan Local School District is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Sean T. Flynn as the district’s next superintendent. Dr. Flynn brings more than a decade of experience in education and school leadership, along with a strong commitment to student success and community collaboration.

Dr. Flynn currently serves as principal of Phoenix Middle School and Worthington Academy in Worthington City Schools, a role he has held since 2019. In this position, he has led school improvement initiatives, supported innovative programming, strengthened community partnerships, and worked to foster a positive culture for students and staff.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Flynn served as principal at Finland Elementary School in South-Western City Schools, assistant principal at Tussing Elementary School in Pickerington Local Schools, and as a fifth-grade math and science teacher. His career has focused on building strong school cultures, developing collaborative leadership teams, and ensuring that every student is supported in reaching their full potential.

Dr. Flynn earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from The Ohio State University in 2023, along with a Master of Arts in Education Administration from Ohio State and bachelor’s degrees in psychology and education from Ashland University. He holds Ohio licenses as a superintendent, principal, and middle grades educator.

A product of rural Ohio, Dr. Flynn says he is excited to serve a community like Benjamin Logan.

“I relate deeply to the families of rural Ohio and the strong values that define communities like Benjamin Logan,” said Dr. Flynn. “Every student deserves to be challenged, prepared, and empowered to succeed beyond graduation. I am honored for the opportunity to work alongside the students, staff, families, and community members of Benjamin Logan to build a collaborative school system that supports every learner and prepares them for the future.”

Throughout his career, Dr. Flynn has emphasized shared leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and strong community partnerships. His leadership style focuses on listening to multiple perspectives, empowering educators, and ensuring decisions remain centered on what is best for students.

Benjamin Logan Board of Education members expressed confidence that Dr. Flynn’s experience and vision will help guide the district forward while continuing the strong tradition of Raider pride and excellence.
