The Benjamin Logan School Board met for the final time in 2025 and bid farewell to a longtime board member and educator, Karen Dill. Dill, who taught from 1982 until her retirement in 2012, has served on the Benjamin Logan School Board for the past two terms. Board Superintendent John Scheu presented Dill with a wooden cutting board engraved with her years of service to the district.
“I hope the District is in better shape now than when I started,” Dill said.
The board also received a rebate check from Logan County Electric Cooperative President and CEO Tim Street. The check for $11,837.44 reflects a dividend based on the district’s electricity usage.
In his report, Superintendent Scheu recognized High School Instrumental instructor Myles Bowers after he was selected to perform in the Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, California. Bowers, who has been with the district for 15 years, is one of 300 music educators selected for the honor.
In her report, District Treasurer and CFO Leah Baker told the board that expenses are trending as expected to date. She noted that January is a three-pay month, so that means expenditures will increase slightly for the month.
She also reminded the board that the Permanent Improvement Loan has been paid in full, saving the district a significant amount in interest.
