The Benjamin Logan School Board met in regular session Monday night and honored the October Seniors of the Month, Junah Tingley and Brandon Heater. Tingley, the daughter of Jason and Jacqueline Tingley of West Liberty, plans to study soil microbiology and broaden her perspective. Heater, the son of Joe and Kim Heater of Bellefontaine, plans to study Business Management and play football at the Division 1 level.
In his report to the board, District Superintendent Dr. Sean Flynn recognized the Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball teams for winning the Central Buckeye Conference-Mad River Division Championships.
Dr. Flynn also said that the High School will once again host area Veterans on Veterans Day for a program involving all three schools. Dr. Flynn discusses the event:
Elementary School Principal Holly Barr reported successful field trips for students in kindergarten through third grade, and thanked the many parent chaperones. The PTC celebrated a successful fundraiser, hosted its first Art Jams event of the year, and organized the Book Fair. She also said that the third-grade students are preparing for the fall Reading Ohio State Test.
Middle School Principal Todd Shadley highlighted the school’s focus on Raider Core Values, beginning with Respect. Through a grade-level competition, students have already earned 1,502 points for demonstrating respectful behavior. Monthly student and staff recognition programs continue, with Authenticity serving as the next school-wide focus.
High School Principal Annette Alatorre reported a successful Homecoming Week organized by Student Government and recognized both soccer teams and the volleyball team for qualifying for postseason play.
