The meeting covered several important topics and decisions that impact the district.
Superintendent John Scheu provided an update on the district report card, with building principals presenting data from their respective schools. He commended the district’s staff for the rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. This is up .5 from last year’s 4 rating. See the entire report card HERE. The Board approved the August 2024 finance report and all associated financial items. Additionally, the disposal of records was approved as requested by the Records Commission Committee.
Several personnel changes were approved, including:
- Resignations of Michelle Current and Vincent Conrad Potvin, both bus drivers
- New hires for one-year limited contracts, including Megan Fitzpatrick and Betsy Savage as bus drivers, and Chad Jordan as a custodian
- Advancements on the salary schedule for teachers, including Tori Purk
- Stipend approval for Cadan Goldstein as Career Internship Program Coordinator
- Approval of home instruction tutors at a rate of $24 per hour

The Board expressed gratitude for donations received, including $200 from Belle Center United Presbyterian Church, $2,000 from the Ohio High School Athletic Association, wooden keys from Larsen Woodworking, a white tent from Annette Ramga-Alatorre, and various school supplies from Iron Brother LEMC.
