Students from several Benjamin Logan High School clubs prepared and served breakfast to local veterans Tuesday morning as part of a special Veterans Day tribute.
At 8:45 a.m., all Middle and High School students gathered in the high school gymnasium to honor approximately 50 area veterans.
Music students provided patriotic selections throughout the event.
Logan County Commissioner Greg Fitzpatrick presented veteran Tim Armentrout with the American flag that flew above the Logan County Courthouse in October 2025.
Armentrout served in the United States Marine Corps from January 1962 to April 1966.
His awards include the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Medal of Valor, and several other commendations.
Armentrout grew up mostly in Middleburg, attended school in Zanesfield, and still resides there today.
During his service, he was stationed in Okinawa, Guam, Mt. Fuji in Japan, the Philippines, Manila, Subic Bay, and Hong Kong.
He later served as a township trustee for more than 20 years.
Now retired from Super Foods after more 30 years, Armentrout says he spends his time golfing when he can and caring for his ailing wife.
He also shared, “I would encourage young people to consider serving their country for at least two years to better understand and appreciate the freedoms they enjoy.”

Logan County Judge Natasha Kennedy also shared a few words at the event:
The assembly concluded with veterans receiving a small token of appreciation from students, and taps ended the ceremony.
