Students at Benjamin Logan High School raised more than $10,700 for the Logan County Cancer Society during this year’s Raider Relay.

The event was planned by the school’s National Honor Society and their advisor Kelly Gibson.

It included a full day of activities, games, and fundraising to support local people and families affected by cancer.

Jennifer Grube-Littick, a former teacher and 14-year cancer survivor, spoke to students about her experience and how the cancer society helped her during her treatment.

A special moment during the day was a lap around the track to honor cancer survivors and those still fighting the disease.

Students took part in sports, water games, face painting, music, and a talent show.

Local businesses also donated food and prizes.

Student leaders Dylan Vance and Taytum Daniels helped get a $1,000 grant to support the event.

At the end of the day, the donation was presented to Tammy Gump from the Logan County Cancer Society.

“This event shows how much our school cares about helping others,” said Sally Stolly, Director of Administrative Services.
