Benjamin Logan students shine at Regional Science Day competition

Benjamin Logan students had a strong showing at the Ohio Academy of Science Regional Science Day at Ohio Northern University.

Competing against top students from across the region, they earned high ratings and multiple category awards for their research projects.

Students earning Superior ratings were Lottie Bodin, Winnie Bodin, Penelope Elliott, Lucy Johns, Ella Stoodt, Gwendolyn Smith, and Junah Tingley.

Excellent ratings went to Carter Fay, Gavin Reidmiller, and Trina Smith. Autumn Cline and Georgia Daniels submitted their projects digitally, with results pending.

Category awards highlighted top work in specific fields. Lottie Bodin was recognized in Animal Science; Lucy Johns and Ella Stoodt in Behavioral and Social Sciences; Gwendolyn Smith in Cellular and Molecular Biology; Winnie Bodin in Earth and Environmental Sciences; Trina Smith in Environmental Engineering; and Penelope Elliott in Microbiology.

Junah Tingley earned a full scholarship to Ohio Northern University’s Pathways to STEM Summer Camp.

Students with Superior ratings will advance to State Science Day on May 16.
