Bellefontaine High School Entrepreneurship students Isaak Hay and Dalton Frazier recently competed in SCORE Dayton’s 1st Annual Miami Valley High School “Shark Tank” Pitch Competition.
Each high school that participated had a local pitch competition to determine what students would compete in the regional competition at Beavercreek High School.
Students were provided rubrics and the BHS winners were scored by BHS business teachers Jake Kennedy and Aaron Peitsmeyer.
At the pitch event, students went through a morning of educational workshops and then presented their new product pitches in the afternoon.
The BHS team of Hay (sophomore) and Frazier (freshman), although the youngest team at the competition, came away with a cash award of $150 by winning the “Spirit Award.”
Students also had the opportunity to listen to keynote speaker Charlynda Scales on tips for being a successful entrepreneur.
Charlynda, the founder of Mutts Sauce based in Dayton, was on the panel of judges that included Nancy Wilson of K99.1 FM as well as WHIO anchors Xavier Hershovitz and Kayla McDermott.
