Wesley Bickle, 63, of Bellefontaine, was taken into custody Monday evening after police were called about an intoxicated man in a yard with children.
Bellefontaine Police Officers responded just after 5:00 PM to the 400 block of West Columbus Avenue.
The caller reported that there was a man in her yard interacting with her kids and had fallen over.
When officers arrived, they found Bickle sitting on the ground with a backpack.
Police say he appeared heavily intoxicated.
He was arrested without incident and charged with public intoxication.
Officers also found several unopened alcoholic drinks in his backpack.
Because of prior disorderly conduct convictions, the charge was upgraded to a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
Bickle was taken to and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
