Bidders flock to livestock auction at Champaign County Fair

The livestock auction took place at the Champign County Fair on Friday morning and into the afternoon.

Sold at the auction were the main attractions: market lamb, market steer, dairy steer, dairy feeders, and market goats. The highest sellers in each category are listed below:

Market Lambs:

Other items sold at the auction included dairy baskets, cornhole boards, the fair banner ($400), and the three advertising banners at the front of the auction podium. Those three spots sold for a combined $23,000.

Head auctioneer Todd Woodruff spoke on the way the livestock auction affects the sellers and how it can unite the community.

The Champaign County Fair concludes Friday night with the demolition derby at the grandstands, beginning at 7 p.m.
