Logan County residents will see a packed ballot this November, with multiple tax levies and local option liquor sales questions up for a vote.

Countywide, voters will decide on a new 2-mill levy to fund the establishment and operation of a 9-1-1 system.

The levy would generate nearly $3.5 million annually and cost property owners $70 per $100,000 of appraised value.

Several villages and townships are also asking for renewals or replacements of existing levies:

  • DeGraff is seeking to renew a 0.7-mill levy for Greenwood Union Cemetery
  • Zanesfield is combining a renewal and increase, proposing a 2-mill levy for current expenses
  • Bokescreek Township (excluding Ridgeway) is asking for a 2-mill replacement levy for fire and EMS services
  • Jefferson, Perry, and Pleasant Townships are each seeking renewals for cemetery levies ranging from 0.4 to 1 mill
  • BMRT Ambulance District is proposing a continuing 3.1-mill replacement levy for current expenses
  • Tri-Valley Fire District wants to renew its 4.5-mill levy for operating expenses

In addition to tax issues, voters in several precincts will weigh in on Sunday liquor sales:

  • The Maxwell Event Center, Wrock Bottom Bar, Liberty Golf, and Tammy Lynn Inn all have local option questions on the ballot
  • Tammy Lynn Inn also has a separate question for regular spirituous liquor sales

The general election is set for Tuesday, November 4.

The voter registration deadline is Monday, October 6.
