Benjamin Logan High School proudly recognizes two outstanding students as the October Seniors of the Month: Tristan Sheets and Kelley Forsythe. Their exceptional achievements and contributions to the school community highlight their dedication and leadership.

Tristan Sheets

Tristan has made a significant impact at Benjamin Logan through his extensive involvement in school activities. He serves as President of both the Student Government and Quiz Bowl and holds leadership positions in the National Honor Society and Spanish Club. His accolades include the Governor’s Award for Advanced or Alternative Energies, the Rotary Youth Leadership Award, and recognition as an AP Scholar with Honor.

When asked what he would do if he were principal for a day, Tristan quipped, “I would play classic rock on the PA between every class and organize a parking lot car show.” His favorite school memory is the Relay for Life Talent Show, where he performed with friends.

Tristan credits his parents, grandparents, and several teachers as his role models, and he has been exploring works such as *Roughing It* by Mark Twain and Jim Morrison’s biography, *No One Here Gets Out Alive*. His advice to parents emphasizes the importance of nurturing curiosity in younger children while fostering independence in older kids. Looking ahead, Tristan plans to study aviation and pursue pilot training in college.

Kelley Forsythe

Kelley Forsythe shines in both academics and athletics, participating in Varsity Girls Soccer, Varsity Girls Swim, and numerous music ensembles, including the Marching Band and Jazz Band. Her commitment to service is reflected in her involvement with the National Honor Society and Girl Scouts.

If she were principal for a day, Kelley would grant students an hour-long nap after lunch, reflecting her understanding of the balance between work and rest. Her most cherished school memory is traveling with the Jazz Band, which showcases her passion for music.

Kelley draws inspiration from her parents, teachers, and coaches, and currently finds solace in reading the Bible. Her advice to parents is to trust in the preparation they’ve provided for their children. Despite wishing she had attended more sporting events, Kelley embraces her experiences. Next year, she plans to major in Health Science in college.

Both Tristan and Kelley exemplify the spirit of Benjamin Logan High School, and their achievements inspire fellow students to strive for excellence.

Congratulations!
