A boil water advisory is currently in effect for portions of East Brown Street and East High Avenue in Bellefontaine due to a water main break.
Addresses affected include 520-556 East High to Allison Road, and 549-556 East Brown to Allison Road.
Residents in the affected area are asked to boil all water for at least five minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or any other form of consumption.
If water appears discolored or cloudy, officials advise running the tap until the water clears before boiling.
According to the Bellefontaine Water Department, the advisory will remain in effect until water samples can be collected and tested to confirm the water is safe to consume.
City officials apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as repairs are completed and safety tests are conducted.
