Buckeye Chuck predicts early Spring; Punxsutawney Phil disagrees

Marion’s famous groundhog, Buckeye Chuck, has predicted an early spring.

On Sunday morning, Chuck didn’t see his shadow when he came out of his burrow, which, according to the tradition, means spring will come early.

The prediction was a hopeful one for locals in Marion, who gathered to watch the annual event.

However, Punxsutawney Phil, the most famous groundhog in Pennsylvania, saw his shadow in the early hours of Sunday.

This means Phil is predicting six more weeks of winter.

The Groundhog Day tradition has been celebrated in the U.S. for over 130 years.

While the weather forecasts aren’t scientifically accurate, people still enjoy the fun of hearing what the groundhogs predict each year.

For now, Ohio residents are looking forward to an early spring, thanks to Buckeye Chuck’s forecast, but only time will tell if the weather will match his prediction.
