Castle arrested for OVI and firearm violation

According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, Cody Castle, 29, of Kenton, was arrested on Friday after a traffic stop for erratic driving in a blue Honda Civic on North Main Street.

Police saw Castle drifting between lanes and entering the turn lane multiple times before pulling into the Hi-Point Car Wash, where officers initiated the traffic stop.

While speaking with him, officers detected signs of alcohol consumption, and Castle admitted to drinking earlier in the evening.

During the stop, officers found a  9mm firearm in the glove box of the vehicle.

Castle then failed several field sobriety tests and later provided breath samples registering .087 and .089 BrAC, just above the legal limit.

Officers also found three open containers of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle.

Castle was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.

He was lodged for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle under the influence, and given a marked lanes violation.
