The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, February 20, to celebrate the Champaign County location of Black Bear Roofing and Exteriors, located at 241 N. Main Street in Urbana.
Owner Cody R. Jackson founded the company after leaving a career as a logistics engineer at Honda of America to build a business rooted in accountability, craftsmanship, and service. Since its founding, Black Bear Roofing and Exteriors has completed more than 200 roofing projects and now serves Champaign and surrounding counties, with service extending to Columbus and Cleveland.
The company specializes in roofing, siding, windows, doors, gutters, and full exterior projects. Roofing installations include a 25-year manufacturer warranty and a lifetime workmanship warranty. Each project also features a dedicated quality control representative on site and a strong commitment to thorough jobsite cleanup.
The company’s name reflects Jackson’s West Virginia roots and his family’s lake home, inspiring the motto “The Bear Builds Better,” which represents strength, reliability, and pride in workmanship. Beyond its services, Black Bear Roofing and Exteriors is deeply committed to community involvement, supporting local youth sports, school programs, community organizations, and area animal shelters.
Guided by the philosophy to “say what you are going to do and do what you say,” Black Bear Roofing and Exteriors continues to grow while building strong connections throughout the community.
