The Champaign County Common Pleas Court, through its partnership with the West Central Community Correctional Facility (West Central), has been awarded access to a Fatherhood Initiative Grant in partnership with CLEAN Enterprises.

“The Champaign County Common Pleas Court, through the efforts of the West Central Community Correctional Facility (West Central), has been awarded access to a Fatherhood Initiative Grant in partnership with CLEAN Enterprises.
Funded through the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood as part of the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, CLEAN Enterprises (Choices – Leadership – Energy – Attitude – Now) is one of several pilot fatherhood programs in Ohio designed to address issues fathers routinely face.
West Central recently launched the program in Logan County, and Champaign County was selected by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth as one of the regions eligible to participate during the program’s second round of applications.
The grant aims to improve outcomes for children and families by equipping fathers sentenced by the Champaign County Common Pleas Court to a West Central program with the tools, resources and support needed to successfully reintegrate into their families and communities.
Under the direction of former Ohio State Buckeye Antonio Smith, CLEAN Enterprises provides programming in re-entry support, housing assistance, financial education, workforce development, entrepreneurial education, and parenting education and support at no cost to participants.
The CLEAN Enterprises program serves fathers who reside in Champaign County and are currently participating in a West Central program, have completed a West Central program and are returning to Champaign County, or are involved in the West Central JRIG program in Champaign County.
‘Champaign County is fortunate to have a community partner like West Central, and the Court is excited to establish a working relationship with CLEAN Enterprises,’ said Common Pleas Judge Nick A. Selvaggio. ‘Through their vision, the Court has been given the opportunity to provide proactive programming to fathers who are struggling to restore stable, positive relationships with their children.
Fathers with a child under the age of 18 who have no involvement with the justice system are also eligible to receive CLEAN Enterprises services. Individuals may self-refer by registering online at ohiofathers.com or by calling or texting 614-642-4700.”
