The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has released its latest construction schedule for Champaign County, with several projects continuing to impact local traffic and one new closure planned for August.
Ongoing Construction Projects:
- State Route 296 remains closed in two sections for bridge work:
- Between Upper Valley Pike and U.S. 68, and
- Between Bates Road and Upper Valley Pike
Both closures will continue through Thursday, July 10.
Detour: U.S. 68 to Miami Street to Oakland Street.
- State Route 29 in Mechanicsburg is reduced to one lane between Railroad Street and Alison Road through July for resurfacing. Traffic is maintained with flaggers.
- State Route 4 is also down to one lane in Mechanicsburg between Maple Grove Road and East Sandusky Street through July. Crews are resurfacing the road, and flaggers are directing traffic.
- State Route 559 is under single-lane restrictions between State Route 29 and Pleasantview Estate, with resurfacing work expected to continue through July.
- State Route 507 is experiencing daytime lane reductions from U.S. 68 to State Route 245, running 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through September for repaving.
Upcoming Work:
Another closure on State Route 296 is scheduled to begin Friday, August 1, between Upper Valley Pike and U.S. 68 for additional bridge repairs. That closure will remain in effect through Thursday, August 21. Detour: U.S. 68 to Miami Street to Oakland Street.
