According to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews responded to a serious crash on Wednesday near the intersection of State Route 29 and State Route 245.
Witnesses told deputies that a Chevrolet Silverado, traveling north on State Route 245, initially stopped at a stop sign before entering the intersection and striking a westbound Ford F-150.
The F-150 was driven by Dwayne Kaeck.
The driver of the Silverado was later identified as Thomas Lowe.
He was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
A citation for non-compliance suspension was issued to Kaeck, while the citation for Lowe, for failing to stop at a stop sign, will be issued at a later time.
The crash remains under investigation.
Lowe’s condition at the time of this release is unknown.
