Champaign County authorities say 65-year-old John Todd Roberts has been found safe after disappearing Sunday morning from his Union Township home.
Roberts, who was last seen around 8:40 a.m. near his residence off State Route 4 in Mechanicsburg, had prompted a countywide search and public alerts.
Deputies confirmed he was located Monday and is now safe. No further details about where he was found were immediately released.
Officials thanked residents across Champaign County and surrounding areas for sharing information and keeping watch, noting that community tips played a key role in the search.
The sheriff’s office says it is grateful for everyone’s help in bringing Roberts home.
