Champaign County Grand Jury indicts 13 in March session

The Champaign County Grand Jury handed down indictments for 13 individuals during its March session.

The following is a list of those indicted, along with their charges:

Arshpreet Singh

  • Pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, a felony of the fourth degree (34 counts)
  • Illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, a felony of the fifth degree (7 counts)
  • Each count includes a one-year firearm specification.

Charles C. Rutherford, Sr.

  • Domestic violence, a felony of the third degree

Melissa B. Houston

  • Theft of drugs, a felony of the third degree
  • Aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree
  • Tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree

William D. Sheets, II

  • Operating a vehicle while under the influence of a listed controlled substance or a listed metabolite of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor of the first degree (4 counts)
  • Possession of cocaine, a felony of the fifth degree
  • Aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree

Anthony A. Hernandez

  • Aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree

Christopher T. Vanhoose

  • Aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree
