Several state highways in Champaign County will see construction activity this week, including a new closure on State Route 245.

SR 245 will be closed between Hite Road and Township Road 195 from Monday, August 24 through Friday, August 28.

Crews will be replacing several culverts.

The detour will take drivers west on State Route 245, south on U.S. 68, west on State Route 296, and west on State Route 29.

Several other construction projects will continue next week.

State Route 55 between Old Troy Pike and U.S. 68 will be intermittently reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through August.

Crews are repaving the roadway, with flaggers maintaining traffic.

State Route 29 between State Route 235 and State Route 560 will also have intermittent one-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September as crews repave the road.

State Route 245 between Brush Lake Road and Gilbert Road will have similar one-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September for repaving.

And U.S. 68 between State Route 55, also known as Lewis B. Moore Drive, and Springfield Pike will have lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the fall as crews resurface the roadway.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution in construction zones.
