A Champaign County teenager who had been missing since August 23, 2025, has been located safely in another state. The investigation remains ongoing and involves multiple law enforcement agencies. Authorities have stated that more information will be released as it becomes available.
The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding 15-year-old Taressah Simmons, who has been reported missing from Mechanicsburg.
Simmons was last seen at her home on Bullard Rutan Road around 10 p.m. on Friday, August 22nd.
She is described as 5’5”, 105 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
She may also wear glasses.
At the time she disappeared, she was wearing black or grey shorts, an oversized teal t-shirt, and white Asics tennis shoes.
A suitcase and some of her clothing were also missing from the house.
