The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of an attempted break-in and vehicle theft over the weekend.
Deputies say the suspect first attempted to break into a residence in the Tecumseh Woods neighborhood of Urbana on Saturday morning.
Soon after, he broke into another nearby home and stole a car, which was later found abandoned on Harding Road in Springfield.
The Sheriff’s Office has released still photos of the suspect and is urging anyone who recognizes him or knows his whereabouts to come forward.

“Let’s work together to hold individuals accountable and keep our neighborhoods safe,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
