The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that the railway crossing on State Route 4, located between Maple Grove Road and Walnut Street, in Champaign County, will be closed for maintenance from Thursday, May 1 through Monday, May 5.

Crews from Conrail Railroad will be working on the crossing, which will impact traffic flow in the area during this time.

Motorists traveling along this stretch of State Route 4 should plan ahead and follow the designated detour.

The official detour route will take drivers from State Route 4 to State Route 56, then to State Route 29, offering an alternative path to bypass the closure.

Local officials are advising travelers to expect delays and to use caution when approaching the affected area.

The work is part of ongoing maintenance efforts to ensure the safety and reliability of the state’s transportation infrastructure.
