According to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, Denise Fairchild, 52, of Woodstock, in Champaign County, was found dead Tuesday in Brush Lake, in the 8300 block of Brush Lake Road.
Relatives of Fairchild called dispatch Tuesday afternoon after they were unable to make contact with her.
Deputies checked Fairchild’s home but did not find her there and were told by family members that she often went to the lake.
Fairchild was found in the water and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
