The Logan County show barn was filled with excitement Tuesday as exhibitors gathered for the 2026 Logan County Junior Fair Beef Show, showcasing months of hard work, preparation, and dedication to raising quality livestock. Youth exhibitors from across Logan County competed in feeder calf, breeding, and market beef classes, with several standout performances earning championship honors.
Leading the way in the beef competition was Madilynn Zedeker of Logan County Livestock, who captured Grand Champion Feeder Calf honors. Holden Downing of Miami Valley Producers earned Reserve Grand Champion Feeder honors, while Downing also had a championship day in the breeding division, earning Grand Champion Breeding Animal with his exotic early junior yearling. His brother, Tucker Downing, followed with Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Animal honors.
The championship performances continued in the market beef show, where Layton Schlumbohm of Riverside Hustlers 4-H Club earned Grand Champion Market Beef honors. Asher Boysel of Benjamin Logan FFA Chapter was named Reserve Grand Champion Market Beef.
Several other exhibitors also turned in strong showings throughout the day. The results highlighted the strength of Logan County’s beef program and the commitment of local 4-H and FFA members who spend countless hours caring for and preparing their animals for the fair.
