The Bellefontaine Police Department is undergoing several positive changes, marked by new roles, promotions, and continued growth.

On Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Dave Crissman conducted a swearing-in ceremony recognizing several personnel updates.

Jayde Sheeley, who recently stepped down from her full-time position with the department to pursue other career opportunities, was sworn back in as an auxiliary officer.

In this role, she will continue to serve the community while balancing her new career path.

Zackary Sheeley was welcomed as Bellefontaine’s newest full-time officer.

Sheeley, a lateral transfer from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, brings experience and a strong knowledge of the local area.

He is scheduled to begin working first shift on July 21st.

Sheeley talks about the move and what brought him to law enforcement in the first place:

Two members of the department also received well-earned promotions.

Officers Andrew Purk and Aaron Long were both promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Bellefontaine Police Chief Chris Marlow called these updates “positive changes for the department,” noting the team’s continued commitment to providing quality service to the community.

He also emphasized that the department still has open positions available for those interested in a career in law enforcement.

The ceremony was well attended by several members of the Bellefontaine Police Department, city leaders, and family members.
